Women in Ironworking

Our organization is openly and actively recruiting women. The women ironworkers of Local 97 are second to none. We have, for generations, understood the value of women’s meticulous, detail orientated, and efficient abilities. Many have succeeded, and had rewarding careers, in one of the toughest jobs out there, earning the admiration and respect of their brothers.

As an apprentice, you earn as you learn…and there are extensive grants to entice women into non-traditional jobs. Men and women are paid equally. You earn a good wage, pension and benefits.
